According to Chongqing Art Museum, the former will have its premiere in the city next month and plans to be open to the public in Shaanxi, Shanxi, and Henan Provinces in 2022. It displays the works of six old artists who have been living in Chongqing since they graduated from Wuchang Art College.

During the Anti-Japanese War, these six artists moved westwards to Chongqing along with the Wuchang Art College, witnessing the changes of the turbulent but self-reliant China. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, they chose to stay in the southwest, participating in the construction of socialism with their art and contributing to the construction of art professional colleges and the training of art professionals in the southwest.

The exhibition will be divided into four sections and will also present case studies of the Fu Ruoyun couple, Liu Yiceng, Deng Yunyan, and Li Jianying couple. All of these works visually reflect the changes that have taken place in China over the past century and provide a visual sample of the great achievements of the new China.

Some of the older artists exhibited, like Liu Guoshu and Diao Peng, were born around 1921. It can be said that their personal artistic growth and maturity accompanied the great achievements of the Communist Party of China over the past century. Through their artistic biographies, one can more intuitively feel the vicissitudes of China's changes over the past century.

The second exhibition focuses on Chengdu-Chongqing Railway. At present, the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle is in full swing. As the first important construction achievement of the two cities, Chengdu-Chongqing Railway, completed and opened to traffic nearly 70 years ago, has played an important role.

With the railway as the motif and its completion and the other two changes as nodes, the exhibition builds on the artworks and literature at each stage. While showing the leap-frog development of China with the progress of the railway, the project hopes to understand the style changes in themed creation. The organization of this exhibition is expected to shed light on how to collect and sort out the fine artworks around a key event of social development. While restoring the construction and development of the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway to the maximum extent, the museum wishes to set up a model of socialist art narration.
