Chongqing Agricultural Products (Group) Co., Ltd. is expected to build 100 smart fresh markets by 2025, based on "15-minute radius community life circles" under the city's supply and marketing cooperative. That will facilitate the building of a community service network oriented towards agricultural products.
What is the smart fresh market like? The answer can be found in the farmers' market of Bainian Supply and Marketing Cooperative in Nan'an District.
After the environmental transformation, the market is clean and bright. There is an electronic screen hung on the wall to the right of the entrance, displaying the unit prices of all vegetables in the market and their amount of sales, sales volume, number of visitors, and other real-time data. Each stall also has a small electronic screen, which shows each commodity's unit price and quantity, along with a mobile payment QR.

Du Hong, a resident near the market, said that such farmers' markets are better than ordinary supermarkets as they can provide personalized recipes and meet daily life needs, such as repairing clothes and home appliances.
Besides, consumers can get detailed information of the commodities they bought by scanning the QR code on the receipt, like places of origin and quality inspection results. Not long ago, when the supply of vegetables was insufficient, and the prices were relatively high, the market, relying on the city's supply and marketing cooperative, purchased vegetables directly from related bases inside and outside the city and sold them at lower prices.

At present, the city owns seven smart fresh markets. Chongqing Agricultural Products (Group) Co., Ltd. will accelerate the construction of more smart fresh markets. The number is expected to reach 100 by 2025, including 50 in the central urban area, 20 in suburban districts and counties, and 30 in outer suburbs and other provinces.
