Chongqing- China-Switzerland Scientific and Technological Innovation Pitchinar in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle kicked off in Chongqing. More than 200 scientific research institutions and technology companies communicated face-to-face and screen-to-screen. Twenty-two companies from China and Switzerland participated in project roadshows and case sharing.
As informed at the conference, Switzerland has globally leading technologies products in the fields of electromechanical metals, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and watchmaking. The innovation capabilities of universities and scientific research institutions in Switzerland are among the highest level in the world. In recent years, the exchanges between Chongqing and Switzerland in the fields of economy, politics, science, technology, and humanities have been continuously deepened. Five large and medium-sized Swiss companies have settled in Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing, with a total investment of 3.8 billion yuan.

In this event, representatives of 22 companies and related institutions from China and Switzerland conducted cooperation case sharing and roadshows on technology projects, covering areas such as clean technology, engineering technology, digital technology, and life sciences.
Ten technology companies from Switzerland have shared their research on natural plant protection, compact brain imaging systems, biomass as a sustainable alternative to replace petroleum, technologies for eliminating toxic and GHG emissions, digital solutions to buy and sell raw materials for life science, and so on.
Companies from Chongqing displayed their research achievements on high intensity focused on ultrasound ablation, nucleic acid technology, and automation for COVID-19, urban wastewater treatment, etc.
Forty-five innovative institutions participated in technology integration and cooperation negotiations, looking for potential opportunities of industry-research cooperation in the fields of clean technology, engineering technology, life, and health, exploring the intersection of benefits for win-win cooperation, and reached preliminary cooperation intentions.
In the next step, the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle will uphold the China-Switzerland spirit of "equality, innovation, and win-win", actively promoting scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation with Switzerland in the fields of biomedicine, new materials, new energy, information technology, energy conservation, and environmental protection.
