On December 16, the Foreign Affairs Office (FAO) of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government held a special seminar to promote the guiding principles from the sixth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee. In total, more than 70 people attended the seminar. Among them were Wang Wen, Director of the FAO of Chongqing Municipal People's Government, Zhang Yaqian and Feng Zimin, Deputy Director of the FAO of Chongqing Municipal People's Government, Ma Ranxi, Director of the Information Office of Chongqing Municipal People's Government, officials of the consulates general in Chongqing of Hungary, Philippines, Belarus, Canada, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Cambodia and Uruguay, representatives of foreign resident correspondents, foreign enterprises, and foreign chambers of commerce in Chongqing, representatives of Hong Kong and Macao people in Chongqing, representatives of foreign scholars, experts, and students in Chongqing, as well as representatives of relevant municipal departments such as Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, Chongqing Municipal Education Commission, and Chongqing Science and Technology Bureau.

At the seminar, Director Wang Wen delivered a speech and introduced the guiding principles from the sixth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee from four aspects to help participants know more about the history, the present, and the future of the CPC and the reality, the changes, and the development of China.

According to her, this plenary session is an important meeting held at a critical historical juncture when China strives to launch a new journey built on past achievements. Moreover, it is also an overall summary of the major achievements made by the CPC in the past century, especially after the 18th CPC National Congress, as well as the historical significance of the efforts of the CPC in the past century and the valuable experience gained during the process. "At the session, it is decided that the CPC will convene the 20th National Congress of the CPC in the second half of 2022, which will sound the clarion call for China's new journey to lead Chinese people towards the new centenary goals. Chongqing will renew its commitments to implementing the guiding principles from the 19th National Congress of the CPC and all the plenary sessions of the 19th CPC Central Committee. Meanwhile, Chongqing will make establishing a new paradigm for high-quality development and life as the mainline to build Chongqing into an important economic center with national influence, a scientific and technological innovation center, a new leading area for reform and opening-up, and a high-quality place to live, and scale new greater heights based on the achievement of building a moderately prosperous society in all aspects."

According to Dmitry Emelyanov, the first consular officer of the Belarusian Consulate General in Chongqing, the sixth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee has summarized the efforts and experience of the CPC who has united and led Chinese people of all ethnic groups over the past hundred years and established the core position of Comrade Xi Jinping at the CPC Central Committee and the whole Party and the guiding position of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. He stressed that it was a significant meeting. "We are deeply impressed by China's development and changes and admire the sense of responsibility of China as a major country."
In order to introduce the guiding principles from the sixth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee to the foreigners in Chongqing, Professor Song Fufan, Director at the Teaching and Research Section of Ideological and Political Education, the Teaching and Research Department of Party Building, the Party School of the CPC Central Committee, and Professor Wu Bing, Vice Dean at the School of International Relations, Sichuan International Studies University, was invited to present a profound interpretation of those guiding principles on the two topics, namely the positioning, content, and features of the Resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on the Major Achievements and Historical Experience of the Party over the Past Century, as well as the sixth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and opening-up in Chongqing, respectively.
