Chongqing- According to a press conference on December 21, Wuxi County, located along the world-famous Yangtze River Three Gorges, will cultivate ecological tourism as the first pillar industry, based on the four brands of ice and snow base, alpine recreation, canyon, and folk culture, to create a national tourism demonstration area.

The new tourism industry in Wuxi
Wuxi has a long history, rich humanities, and healthy ecology. With the largest alpine meadow in southern China, Hongchi Dam, the highest peak in Chongqing, Yintiao Mountain, the first deep valley in Chongqing, Lanying Grand Canyon, and the oldest ancient town in Chongqing, Ningchang Ancient Town. In addition, Wuxi's Daning Ancient City has a history of more than 1,800 years and is the only ancient town in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area that has not been submerged. With 497 tourism resources projects, ranking 7th in Chongqing, Wuxi covers eight main categories of geomorphological landscape, water landscape, biological landscape, astronomical and climatic landscape, architecture and facilities, historical relics, tourism purchases, and humanistic activities, making it a vast county of tourism resources in Chongqing and the Three Gorges Reservoir Area.

In order to make good use of these tourism resources and create a new tourism industry, Mayor of Wuxi County Wang Zhong introduced that Wuxi will create a poetic Three Gorges tourism product around efforts such as the creation of national 5A tourist attractions and national tourism resorts in Hongchi Dam; and create a beautiful rural Three Gorges tourism product around efforts such as to create the world's best tourist villages, China's beautiful leisure villages, and key villages in the national city's rural tourism.

A multi-dimensional transportation system
Wuxi County is currently speeding up the construction of roads, and make every effort to promote the Wuxi-Fengjie railroad, the Grand Three Gorges tourism railroad loop, Wuxi-Chengkou high-speed and other preliminary work, also build a special tourism line to Wushan Airport to be completed and opened to traffic as soon as possible. As Wang Zhong introduced, the county's main goal is to provide a comprehensive range of products and services to meet the needs of its tourists.
To promote the connection between rural revitalization and tourism industry development, Wuxi will closely follow the rural revitalization strategy, select high-quality B&Bs and farmhouses, build high-quality B&Bs with special characteristics, and reach 100-star B&Bs by 2026.
