The spring brings blue sky, white clouds, and a warm breeze. Residents usually climb the fitness trails in Hongyan Park, overlooking the beautiful scenery halfway up the mountain, or scale Hutouyan Park at the top of the mountain before sunset.
According to the Urban Management Bureau of Yuzhong District, the construction has recently been completed on the first and second phases of Hongyan Park, covering a construction area of about 170,000 square meters. The overall framework of the park has been established. Residents and tourists can visit the park for free to admire the view or relax.

Comprehensive mountain park
Connecting Daping and Hualongqiao areas, Hongyan Park features complex terrain conditions, with the highest drop of more than 100 meters. To reasonably put the idle land into use and promote the greening and landscaping of slopes and cliffs, Hongyan Park is positioned as a comprehensive mountain park with a variety of activities focusing on Hongyan culture, leisure, entertainment, and fitness.

At the top of the park's steep cliff, there are three convenient entrances to the scarp line trail, Jingwei trail, and Hutouyan Park. Walking downwards, you'll encounter a flower sea of more than 100 plants, such as purple-leafed plum, crape myrtle trees, and jacaranda (fern tree). Cherry and red plum trees on the hillside also form part of the 12 Attractions of Hongyan Park. The green leaves blend with colorful flowers in full bloom, and the fitness trails zigzag down. The park is getting more and more enjoyable.

One after another, you'll see the sunny lawn of more than 1,000 square meters, a sea of purple sage flowers, a children's amusement park, and a shady bar in the earth-sheltered architectural style. Hongyan Park integrates landscape, fitness, and amusement in the 12 scenic spots.
Cultural tradition
Hongyan Park is surrounded by revolutionary culture areas, including Hongyan Village and Hongyan Revolution History Museum.
The restored former site of Xinhua Daily Headquarters, located in the valley, consists of five buildings with bamboo and wooden structures. The special exhibition on Xinhua Daily and The Masses weekly tells the glorious history.

Right in front of the former site, the railway bridge built in the 1970s and Rail Transit Line 9 look at each other side by side, which is a witness of long years and a living record of the transport history.
An official from the Urban Management Bureau of Yuzhong District said that the Hongyan Park project would cover about 200,000 square meters. The construction has been completed on the first phase of slope greening and the second phase in the valley and will be completed on the third phase of railway landscape and supporting commercial buildings by the end of this year. At that time, Hongyan Park will be fully open to the public, where people can admire the unique view of the mountain city and appreciate the revolutionary culture full of historical memories.
