Please do not leave Chongqing unless essential
Li suggested that citizens stay in Chongqing if they do not have essential travel needs during the May Day holiday. If citizens need to leave Chongqing, they should inform their work unit or community and provide a certificate of negative nucleic acid within 48 hours before leaving Chongqing.

When returning to Chongqing, citizens should provide a certificate of negative nucleic acid within 48 hours and forward the work unit or community as soon as arriving in Chongqing. They also need to conduct nucleic acid tests and self-health monitoring according to relevant requirements.
Li reminded us that citizens should not go to areas with new local COVID-19 infections within 14 days and land border port areas. It should strictly restrict access to medium and high-risk areas.
Li also said that the public could log in to the State Council's WeChat mini-program to check relevant policies.
Traveling tips during May Day
It advocates for citizens to travel short-term and surrounding tours within the city. Citizens should prioritize the prevention and control of epidemics when traveling on holidays to avoid taking chances.
"Citizens need to protect themselves, avoid gathering, wear masks when entering scenic spots and venues, and cooperate with temperature monitoring and health code inspection," said a Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development officer.
Chongqing scenic spots will implement a reservation system. Tourists need to check the ticket reservation, passenger flow restriction, and other measures in advance.
During the May Day holiday, Chongqing's public places will implement strict prevention and control epidemic measures such as checking health codes, scanning the site codes and temperature measurements for those entering the areas, and strictly controlling the upper limit of reception below 75% of the capacity.
In addition, the person whose health Code is red, yellow, or pop-up window is not allowed to enter cultural and tourist places.
Go shopping during May Day
The May Day holiday will usher in a small consumption peak. Given many people in commercial places, Wang Jue, deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, called on citizens to keep social distancing and personal protection when shopping.
Furthermore, to meet the public holiday consumption demand, Chongqing will take multiple measures in the business field to ensure a stable supply of living materials in the market. The average daily intake of fruits and vegetables in the Shuangfu Wholesale Market is about 11,400 tons, increasing 14% over regular times. The stocking volume of supermarkets such as Chongbai and Yonghui has also increased by 30%.
Meanwhile, Chongqing has established a joint supply mechanism with eight provinces and cities like Sichuan Province and Yunnan Province. In case of an emergency, the government will activate the emergency mechanism immediately to ensure a sufficient and timely supply of citizens' living materials.
