People Experience Traditional Chinese Medicine of Intangible Cultural Heritage

Chongqing-On May 18, the sub-activity of the 7th Chongqing Cultural Tourism Consumer-Benefit Season (Spring and Summer), Traditional Chinese Medicine of Intangible Cultural Heritage, was launched in Chongqing.

On the day of the event, there was a customer-benefit market of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM), which provided visitors discounts of TCM products and services, such as moxibustion, Tui Na massage, unguents, and so on. The theme of this event focuses on Loving Life, Tasting Life, and Enjoying (a) Healthy Life. In addition to experiencing acupuncture, Tui Na massage, ironing, unguents making, identification of Chinese herbal medicines, and other traditional Chinese medicine health consultations, customers and visitors also took part in the interactive experiences of traditional Chinese medicine of intangible cultural heritage. Meanwhile, visitors could also receive Chinese herbal medicines for summer medicinal baths, soups for pandemic control and prevention, and sachets with Chinese herbal medicines for free at the Shaolin Hall of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Chongqing.

Meanwhile, there was a lecture about Chinese medicine health care, which intended to tell visitors how to control and prevent the pandemic by TCM. The lecture spread the knowledge of health preservation and disease prevention in spring and summer and offered TCM consultation services.

Besides there was also an exhibition at the event, which was organized by Chongqing Bayu Folk Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum, presenting China’s profound history of pandemic control and prevention. Five parts of posters in the exhibition were adjusted and improved based on the traditional Chinese medicine pandemic control and prevention exhibition held at the Roosevelt Library around April 2020. It introduced the history of the TCM First Aid Hospital, the first modern one in the city.
