China (Chongqing)-Brazil Trade & Investment Matchmaking Conference Concluded

Chongqing- To help enterprises maintain orders and expand the market, and stabilize the bases of international trade and foreign investment, on May 26, China (Chongqing) - Brazil Trade & Investment Matchmaking Conference was successfully held online.

The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Chongqing Committee and the China-Brazil Business Council Chongqing Liaison Office organized the fair. Nearly 200 representatives of related industrial and commercial companies and institutions from China and Brazil attended the seminar online. Over 60 companies from both sides have held nearly 40 negotiations. The conference promoted 31 preliminary cooperation intentions in various fields, such as electromechanical, hardware, and agricultural products.

Deng Wennian, Vice Chairman of CCPIT Chongqing Committee, stated that Brazil is a major exporter of various agricultural products in the world with its advantageous geographical environment, abundant natural resources, and developed agricultural and animal husbandry. Brazilian agricultural products have great potential in the Chongqing market. On the other hand, Chongqing has a solid industrial foundation with complete industrial categories and strong comprehensive supporting capabilities. Brazil has many potential business opportunities for products, such as automobiles and motorcycles, electromechanical, and electronic products. Deng hoped that participating enterprises would strive to obtain benefits through the opportunity and participating institutions would cooperate extensively to serve enterprises better. Through the joint efforts of all parties in this conference and cooperation mechanism, the trade and investment between Chongqing and Brazil will be deepened and strengthened, and the quality and efficiency of cooperation will be improved.

Although Chongqing and Brazil are far apart, the online communication between the companies of the two sides during the negotiation seminar was active and enthusiastic. Based on the supply and demand intentions and matchmaking arrangement, everyone at the conference adopted one-to-one negotiation and achieved preliminary cooperation intentions. This conference had been fully affirmed by the enterprise, which would further expand the international management concept and penetrate the international market. Also, the conference helped participants to meet new international economic and trade friends, which provided strong support for the enterprise to step onto the international stage, becoming bigger and stronger.

In order to enhance the pertinence and effectiveness of business negotiation, before the seminar, the CCPIT and relevant Brazilian institutions had done a lot of effective work to promote and mobilize enterprises to participate in the meeting actively. Meanwhile, they also made demands intention of enterprises one by one and improved the effectiveness of matchmaking negotiation.

Besides, some relevant institutions, including the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Sao Paulo, CCPIT Representative Office in Brazil, Bilateral Cooperation Departments of the CCOIC, CCPIT Sichuan Committee, Invest SP, LIDE China, IRICE, and so on, had given strong support to the organization and implementation of the conference, providing a strong guarantee for the success of the conference.

At the opening ceremony, Tian Yuzhen, Vice Consul General of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Sao Paulo, José Mário Antunes, Chief Representative of the Shanghai Representative Office of the Invest SP, and José Ricardo, CEO of LIDE China also delivered speeches respectively. Guo Yinghui, the chief representative of the CCPIT Representative Office in Brazil, and relevant leaders of the bilateral cooperation department of the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) attended the opening ceremony.
