China Railway Southwest Headquarters Project Landed in Chongqing

Chongqing- The China Railway southwest regional headquarters project landed in Jiangbei District, Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, with the promotion of the Chongqing Investment Promotion Bureau on June 13. 

Under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), the China Railway Group Limited (China Railway) is a large-scale state-owned enterprise. In 2021, it completed a turnover of 1.07 trillion yuan (about 158.82 billion U.S. dollars), ranking 35th among the Fortune Global 500 enterprises. Its business involves engineering construction and equipment manufacturing, characteristic real estate, asset management, and other fields, with more than 2/3 of the total mileage of railways' construction in China.

The southwest regional headquarters project will coordinate the whole business in high-end operation, overall coordination, support services, and public relations maintenance, covering trade in one municipality and four provinces: Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, and Hubei. It will promote cooperation with significant projects in Chongqing, optimize the stock, and expand the increment.

Specifically, China Railway will cooperate in five aspects in Chongqing: green buildings, urban rail transit, port and waterway, water conservancy and watershed management, and rural revitalization. 

First, the China Railway plans to build a modern green prefabricated building industry base and green mine project in Chongqing that integrates innovative research and development (R&D), manufacturing, and intelligent management to help the transformation and upgrading of Chongqing's construction industry.

Second, the China Railway plans to invest in the construction of the Chongqing rail line 7 (phase I), line 17 (phase I), and four Chongqing municipal railways, investigate the hydrogen energy low-floor tram projects, aiming to help Chongqing to take the lead in global rail transit.

Third, the China Railway plans to participate in the investment and construction of the Luoqi port project in Yubei District, integrate into the Chongqing port and shipping market in a bid to improve the opening efficiency of Chongqing's port and waterway channels and expand the comprehensive functions of the Yangtze River Golden Waterway to go abroad, to help Chongqing fully integrate into the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

Fourth, the China Railway will continue to strengthen the construction, investment, and design in the sector of water conservancy and water affairs, boosting the development of water conservancy, water affairs, and watershed management in Chongqing.

Fifth, the China Railway plans to participate in Chongqing's rural revitalization with the improved rural infrastructure.

In fact, Chongqing is no stranger to the China Railway. The enterprises belonging to the China Railway have participated in constructing the Zhengzhou-Chongqing high-speed railway, which is about to open in late June, and the Chongqing Railway east ring road. The Jiangbei District has both confidence and ability to provide the best service and guarantee for the China Railway southwest regional headquarters project, said a related official.
