Chongqing-The Investing in Chongqing · Chongqing Global Promotion (Online) Event, 2022 was successfully held on July 11. At the event, Peng Shiquan, a member of the Party Working Committees of the Western (Chongqing) Science City and Chongqing High-tech Industrial Development Zone, introduced the Western (Chongqing) Science City and the new energy vehicle (NEV) and connected automated vehicle industries to the world.
The Western (Chongqing) Science City lies in a U-shaped valley in the western part of downtown Chongqing. With an area of 1,198 square kilometers, it covers five administrative regions of the city and Chongqing High-tech Zone, with the latter's directly-administrated park at the core.
Positioned as a City of Science and Hub of Innovation, the Western (Chongqing) Science City develop "soft power" on a scientific and technological basis and "hard power" facing the future around "Five Sciences" and "Five Technologies." It will boost progress in science, industry, and the Western (Chongqing) Science City itself to grow into a model for scientific and technological innovation and high-quality development in Chongqing.
The Western (Chongqing) Science City features development and large-scale construction advantages backed by national strategies. Its location enables it to play a leading role in western China.
Chongqing enables the Western (Chongqing) Science City to leverage the resources of a national high-tech zone, a free trade zone, and a comprehensive bonded zone. The city has also granted the Western (Chongqing) Science City the authority of administrative review and approval on 418 items. Integrated development with Chongqing University Town equips it with the innovation advantage. Electronic information and integrated circuits account for a high proportion of the industrial structure of the Western (Chongqing) Science City. It has launched 34 reform measures leading in the city and even in China, including the "one integrated license" initiative. Besides, the Western (Chongqing) Science City also adopts 10-Measure "Golden Phoenix" policy concerning such sectors as an industry. With these efforts, the Western (Chongqing) Science City is becoming an ideal place for investment.
