Chongqing Ranks Top 5 of China’s National-Level Industrial Internet Node

Chongqing- As of August 9, statistics show the national-level industrial Internet identification and resolution node (Chongqing) had launched 32 secondary-level nodes, with access to 2,802 enterprise nodes, which can enhance production efficiency. The national-level node is an essential infrastructure service facility for industrial Internet and the core hub of the identification and resolution system, providing identification registration and resolution services for developing industrial Internet in China. The national-level nodes have been established in five cities, including Wuhan, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chongqing.

In the Industrial Internet identification and resolution system, also known as the "ID card of the digital world," each entity or virtual object is assigned a unique identification code with relevant information through barcodes, two-dimensional codes, and radio frequency identification. Like the Domain Name System (DNS), the system locates, connects, and dialogues with physical and virtual objects.

In addition to the 32 secondary-level nodes launched in Chongqing, the number of identification registrations has reached 12.54 billion, and the cumulative number of resolutions has reached 7.61 billion.

Identification and resolution services

Enterprise nodes can use system-provided identification and resolution services when they access the national-level node system. For example, Chongqing Yotsuba Auto Parts Co., Ltd has had trouble with product quality assurance and anti-counterfeiting traceability. These problems could only be solved by supervising every link in the entire process, which would take a lot of labor and time.

By applying the comprehensive service platform for secondary-level nodes of industrial Internet identification and resolution, Chongqing Yotsuba has constructed a standardized coding system, from raw steel plates, stamping, coding, welding, and testing, to product delivery. The system eliminates severe material wasting, untraceable data, and enterprise data silos.

Through identification and resolution, the output value of the above-scale enterprises that have implemented innovative transformation in Chongqing has increased by an average of 46.8%, contributing more than 60% of the city's industrial output value. Digital workshops and innovative factory demonstration projects increased production efficiency by 59.8%.

For the next step, to promote infrastructure integration and new technologies such as artificial intelligence and quantum information, the national top-level node (Chongqing) will moderately expand infrastructure functions, build technical support, and establish platforms for national laboratories and large scientific installations. Several key industries in Chongqing are expected to undergo upgrades, cost reductions, and efficiency enhancements.
