Smart Electrical Fire Prevention and Control System Debuts at 2022 SCE

On August 23, the smart electrical fire prevention and control system debuted at Smart China Expo (SCE) 2022, which Chongqing Fengji Intelligent Technology Research Institute developed. The founder, Xiong Xiaofu, accepted an online interview to introduce this system.

Fengji is a high-tech company established in December 2019 that focuses on developing, producing, and selling power transmission and distribution safety equipment and products. Its technical team is experienced in offering integrated electrical safety solutions and developing new technologies and products. Many achievements have been transformed and applied.

According to Xiong Xiaofu, the system relies on "early warning, quick response, accurate positioning, and smart analysis." The new sensing, Internet of Things, and big data technology digitize and visualize the complex power supply network to predict and monitor the network state. The system allows the replacement of electrical fire extinguishment with the prevention, effectively improving the detection and disposal rates of hidden perils endangering electrical safety and significantly reducing the probability of electrical fires.

According to Xiong, the system is designed to prevent electrical fires in senior residential communities, crowded places, and office buildings. It focuses on detecting perils in real-time and providing early warning and quick response.

What is the role of smart prevention? What is the difference between it and traditional prevention measures? Xiong said traditional electrical fire prevention standards are relatively low, with simple prevention and control measures including high-current interruption, fuse blowing, and utilization of air switches. Even with daily maintenance, there are hidden dangers. Smart electrical fire prevention and control is equipped with electricity leakage detection, arc flash monitoring, wire connector temperature measurement, and other functions. Meanwhile, all relevant data can be uploaded to the big data cloud platform for 24-hour monitoring of the power supply network. The system can alert users instantly if a problem arises.

"In addition, the system can promote energy conservation," Xiong said that after the power supply system is equipped with electrical sensors, people can know how the electricity is consumed, which can be used to analyze and regulate electricity consumption behavior.

"Smart electrical fire prevention and technology is under rapid development, with many needs to be met. As a next step, Fengji company will work in this sector and provide relevant services." Xiong noted that electrical fire prevention and control are a part of the smart fire prevention system. Next, the company will integrate the smart front-end equipment and the platform for analysis, management, and control with smart fire prevention.

Xiong also mentioned that when purchasing low-voltage electrical equipment, customers used to take foreign high-end brands as their first choice. However, in third-generation low-voltage electrical equipment, China can now compare with foreign high-end brands in terms of digitalization and intelligence and even lead the field in some aspects. Therefore, Fengji also plans to expedite the intelligent manufacturing of low-voltage electrical appliances, making high-end domestic brands and high-end equipment go global.

The smart electrical fire prevention and control system has been operated in more than 8,000 pilot terminals. The operation results show that the system is stable in operation, sensitive and accurate in detecting electrical fault perception, and can resolve multiple electrical fire hazards in the pilot area.
