Digital Economy Ready to Set Sail in Chongqing Jiulongpo

Chongqing- A digital economic cluster starts operation in Jiulongpo District of Chongqing, as the Chongqing Digital Mansion newly built is put into use, according to information released from the Smart China Expo 2022.

The mansion located on Erlang Street has mixed functions. It demonstrates the latest results of digital economic development in the region for the public and provides office space for digital enterprises with about 4,000 staff. The digital economic cluster has introduced 15 programs, such as a China Unicom 5G innovation center, an industrial Internet innovation center of Bluetron, and 18 other smart companies have been presented here.

A landmark of the new digital economy is built around the mansion. According to the official announcement, it is about 200,000 square meters in size, with a digital block, three digital squares, and several satellite bases attached.

Jiulongpo District has built 4,249 5G base stations and introduced several programs for industrial Internet and big data, with a total investment of 20.6 billion yuan.

Introduced smart applications have the potential to improve people's quality of life. An intelligent early warning system for high-rise littering and 24-hour administrative affairs service has been implemented in Jiulongpo District, which has earned the district credits from citizens.

Zhao Hongmin, Director of the Bureau of Big Data Application Development of Chongqing Jiulongpo District, said that in the next five years, Jiulongpo would focus on building a robust digital economy by understanding and collecting the needs of the traditional industries for digitization, introducing and nurturing digital companies which enable AI empowering technology.
