The report shows that in terms of traffic efficiency and convenience, the traffic congestion in 100 China cities was greatly relieved in the second quarter of 2022, and the congestion index for commuting in peak hours in over 70% of the cities decreased year on year. Commuting time in over 90% of cities saw a year-on-year decline. The demand for weekend travels in more than half of the 100 cities has shown an upward trend. Hangzhou, Chongqing, Xi'an, and other tourist cities have remained highly popular for weekend travel.

The report also reveals that 28 of the 75 cities optimized from congestion in the second quarter had in-depth cooperation with Baidu Intelligent Transportation. Among them, Beijing, Chongqing, Guangzhou, and some other cities with complex traffic conditions and in-depth, intelligent transportation construction saw remarkable optimization results.

The relevant person in charge of Baidu Maps said that Baidu Maps is committed to fully exploiting the value of data in the field of transportation. The issuance of quarterly urban traffic reports provides comprehensive and reliable data support for figuring out the development status of vehicles, addressing urban traffic problems, and building transportation power. Baidu Maps will keep giving full play to its data and technology to help improve urban traffic efficiency in China.
