Focusing on the current development, innovation cooperation strategies, and project resource matchmaking of biotechnology and bioindustry in the two countries, participants in the forum have conducted in-depth exchanges through keynote reports, cooperation agreement signing, and project roadshows.

At the forum, KPBMA and Chongqing Hi-tech Incubation Center, also known as Chongqing Foreign Sci-Tech Exchange Center, signed a cooperation agreement. They aim to promote innovation exchanges and cooperation between Chongqing and South Korea in biotechnology and build a long-term mechanism for sci-tech cooperation between the two sides.

An official of Chongqing Science and Technology Bureau said that with the excellent foundation for the exchanges and cooperation between Chongqing and South Korea in biotechnology, the event would further promote the sci-tech and cultural exchanges and pragmatic cooperation in industrial innovation between the two sides in the field.

China and South Korea have established a sci-tech cooperation relationship featuring all entities' participation, multiple channels, multiple fields, and deep integration, and developed several intergovernmental mechanisms for sci-tech innovation cooperation.

The biotechnology cooperation between the two countries is highly complementary and has enormous potential, according to an official of CSTEC.

A relevant person in charge of KPBMA said that as an upward trend year by year is seen in the overall market size of China's pharmaceutical manufacturing industry and the growth of biological enterprises, China has become a major pharmaceutical and biological country that attracts worldwide attention, and there are increasing opportunities for foreign enterprises to enter the market.

The KPBMA representative said the forum would become a new starting point for China and South Korea to promote biotechnology exchanges and achieve win-win cooperation.

South Korean SHAPERON, GENENCELL, EZDIATECH, Chongqing-based Zein Biotechnology, Huapont Life Sciences, and Haifu Medical Technology carried out project roadshows in biomedicine, medical devices, and diagnostic testing.

After the forum, relevant enterprises in Chongqing will be organized to matchmake projects with 19 South Korean companies participating in the event.

The China-South Korea Biotech Cooperation & Development Forum was held by the joint efforts of Chongqing Science and Technology Bureau, China Science and Technology Exchange Center (CSTEC), and Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-pharma Manufacturers Association (KPBMA).
