Unique ‘Fish’ Swim Along the Yangtze River on Nanbin Road

Chongqing- Residents in Chongqing are amazed by the unique "fish" along the Yangtze River on Nanbin Road. The stone carvings of fish and other animals have become new landscapes in this urban area.

These "fish" are stone carvings carved on the riverbank, found beside the ecological and cultural scroll of the Yangtze River in Yabadong Wetland Park.

They are not easy to spot standing on the bank. But as you wander past, now and then, you'll come across one or even more.

Their shape is lifelike, some lying on the bank, some hidden in the stone cave, just like playing "hide and seek" with you.

"It was s fun! I only found a few, and my son found more than a dozen," said Yu, a resident who took her son here to find "fish" twice during the National Day holiday, and this time she found more "fish" than last time.

Li, fishing by the river, also joked with his friends: "If I don't catch any fish today, I'll cook the 'fish' here and eat it."

It is understood that these riverbank stone carvings are part of the environmental improvement project from the south end of the E'gongyan Bridge to the Xianglong Riverside Community. The project will focus on the renovation of the stone bank and strive to create the landscape, such as the stone carving and the ecological lake, forming a unique wetland park, which is expected to be fully completed by the end of this year.

It is worth mentioning that the riverbank stone carvings used the original natural form of the riverbank to create. In addition to "fish," there are also "hidden" turtles, snakes, frogs, snails, and other shapes of the stone carvings.
