Useful Technology that Engaged in the Battle Against COVID-19

Chongqing- Facing the complex COVID-19 epidemic situation in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, professionals like data analysts and algorithm engineers in Western (Chongqing) Science City utilize scientific forces to support epidemic control.

Using robots to pre-set the spraying route

In the government affairs service center of Chongqing High-tech Industrial Development Zone, the intelligent atomizing disinfection robot follows the pre-set spraying route, shuttling in the hallway.

The nozzle on the robot's top rhythmically releases disinfectant spray. The spray involves the micron-level dry fog bactericidal factor, which can quickly eliminate viruses and germs in the air.

The robot is created by Chongqing Zhongke Automotive Software Innovation Center, which adopts the ultrasonic atomizing disinfection method with good dispersion. Using the APP to remote control and monitor can also reduce the cross-infection risk.

Monitoring nearly 100 vehicles in real-time

Yunche Zhitu (Chongqing) Technology Co., Ltd is a technology-based enterprise incubated by the Intelligent Connected Vehicles Innovation Center of Western (Chongqing) Science City, which is deeply engaged in commercial vehicle networking.

Recently, the company used an artificial intelligence balancing algorithm to combine a high-precision map with the pre-hospital emergency system so that the medical vehicle can access the exact location of the epidemic. It can also assign rescue routes and regional patrols to each ambulance, ensuring that ambulances can perform transport tasks timely and improve first aid efficiency.

With the help of the intelligent vehicles system, the emergency command system is upgraded from one-way to two-way information exchange. The approach can detect the vehicle's position, working state, and task state to improve emergency response.

The logistics vehicle network platform of Yunche Zhitu (Chongqing) Technology Co., Ltd also plays a vital role in the anti-epidemic. Relying on the platform, the company customized a system for enterprises of key materials supply.

The platform can monitor nearly 100 vehicles in real-time, including vehicle status, intelligent delivery of orders, route planning, and real-time monitoring of the temperature and humidity of goods. This also makes enterprises deliver supplies more promptly and accurately.

Sorting massive data through a mini-program

The prevention and control work involves extensive data collation due to the vast area and personnel.

Thus, Peking University Chongqing Big Data Research Institute organized professionals to clean and maintain the epidemiological investigation data, infections transport data, nucleic acid (COVID) testing data, complete data analysis, and report regularly.

"I hope that through scientific means, this can help us to reduce the pressure of the anti-epidemic, grasp the epidemic data more efficiently, and help to defeat the epidemic soon," said Tu Teng, a data analyst of Peking University Chongqing Big Data Research Institute.

These days, Tu helps workers process the data. After becoming familiar with the work procedures, Tu continuously worked for over 10 hours to write a mini-program that can automatic processing hundreds of forms in less than one minute.

He also created a relationship map and a geographical distribution map targetting the confirmed cases to clarify the epidemic distribution between buildings and communities, facilitating the follow-up work.
