ILSTC and Yuxinou Help Enterprises Resume Production for Export

Chongqing- After continuous improvements in epidemic control measures across the country, many provinces and cities in China have been rushing to overseas markets to seize foreign trade opportunities with their resumption of production.

In Southwest China's Chongqing, the corridor economy plays a pivotal role in connecting to the world, including the New International Land-sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC) and the China Railway Express (Yuxinou).

On December 17, loaded with locally produced or assembled goods in Chongqing, the ILSTC trains were launched from three railway logistics hub stations, including Tuanjie Village Station, Xiaonanya Station, and Guoyuan Port

Six international trains carrying motorcycles and spare parts, smart home appliances, daily necessities, and other products left Tuanjie Village Station on the same day. They will be sent to Eurasian countries and cities, like Duisburg in Germany, Hanoi in Vietnam, Vientiane in Laos, and more.

With the shipment of these trains, local enterprises in Chongqing can resume production quickly, providing a strong boost to exports along the channel to enter the overseas market.

With Chongqing as the operation center and the western provinces and cities as critical nodes, ILSTC adopts railway, highway, sea transportation, and other transport modes to reach all over the world southward, which is significantly shorter than the time to reach the sea via the eastern region.

Up to November, the number of enterprises served by rail-sea combined transport trains in ILSTC (Chongqing-Qinzhou) increased by 21.3% yearly, while the number of operating trains grew by 20.58%. Data show that the total value of goods transported reached approximately 11.2 billion yuan (roughly 1.6 billion U.S. dollars), an increase of 37.38% over the previous year.

This year, a number of corridors have been successful in helping Chinese companies expand overseas, further supporting foreign trade. By way of ILSTC, the local automotive firms of Chongqing have established rail-sea combined transport normalization, for example.

Connecting with Europe, the China Railway Express (Yuxinou) has also cooperated with different auto brands to facilitate the products' export, including Changan Automobile and Dongfeng Sokon Motor Co., Ltd. (SEREs).

Over the years, Yuxinou has set up a consultation platform to facilitate customers' business cooperation, thanks to its abundant resources in Europe, Asia, and other places, said Qi Dan, general manager of Yuxinou (Chongqing) Logistics Co., Ltd.

Chongqing will continue to expand China Railway Express (Yuxinou) and other major outbound routes to improve the guarantee capability of the industrial chain and supply chain, better serve local industrial and economic development, and provide strong support for the Belt and Road Initiative, said Ba Chuanjiang, director of the Chongqing Port and Logistics Office.
