The meeting stressed better coordinating epidemic prevention and control with economic and social development, urging efforts to optimize epidemic response based on time and situation and focus on the elderly and those with underlying diseases.
Promoting industrial upgrading through capital attraction
At the economic work conference held by the Communist Party of China Chongqing Municipal Committee on December 29, Fan Li, Deputy Director of the Chongqing Development and Reform Commission, said he is confident about Chongqing's economic development next year.
According to Fan, the Chongqing Development and Reform Commission will focus on promoting the stabilization and recovery of the economy, implementing projects and promoting investment, and deepening the preliminary work to accelerate economic recovery.
Chongqing will promote the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, integrate into the joint construction of the Belt and Road and the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, stimulate the development of the western region of China, accelerate the construction of the New International Land-sea Trade Corridor and build a modern industrial system.
According to Xie Xiaogang, deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Investment Promotion Bureau, a number of major projects will be implemented to cultivate and grow strategic emerging industries, transform traditional industries and upgrade them, and lay out the future industries in a forward-looking manner.
In addition, this will increase the impact of investment promotion on the city's industry, investment, employment, and taxation.

According to Li, they will promote the construction of urban railways, railway networks, hub stations, and other projects through integrated urban transportation and aim to surpass 500 kilometers of rail transit mileage in the first quarter of 2023.
Building a 100-billion-level industrial cluster
In 2023, Liangjiang New Area will introduce a number of leading enterprises and projects with development prospects, high industrial agglomeration, and strong driving capabilities, and improve the stability and competitiveness of the industrial chain and supply chain, said Cheng Wendi, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee and secretary of the commission for political and legal affairs of the Liangjiang New Area.
By 2027, Liangjiang New Area plans to develop a satellite Internet industry environment and a novel business model for the digital economy by developing 100-billion-level industrial clusters, including aerospace information.
Lan Qinghua, director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information, said that high-quality development and the real economy would be the focus, new industrialization would be promoted, leading industries would be consolidated, and influential industrial clusters would be developed.
