Chongqing and Hubei to Build Three Gorges Tourism Brand

Chongqing - On January 10, the 13th China Three Gorges International Tourism Festival by the Yangtze River occurred in Wanzhou District in Southwest China's Chongqing.

The Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development and Hubei Province signed the memorandum to strengthen the Three Gorges Yangtze River regional tourism cooperation and enhance the overall brand image of the Three Gorges tourism.

According to the memorandum, Chongqing and Hubei will comprehensively improve the infrastructure construction of tourism transportation and strengthen the interconnection of the Yangtze River golden waterway, high-speed rail, expressway, and airport.

Both places will improve public service facilities and the coverage of 5G networks in various scenic spots and resorts.

In addition, both places will improve tourism facilities such as barrier-free facilities, tourist toilets, scenic parking lots, and tourist guidance and identification systems.

In 2021, the Chongqing-Hubei Yangtze River Three Gorges region received 230 million tourists and realized a total tourism revenue of 204.07 billion yuan. In the first three quarters of 2022, the Yangtze River Three Gorges region received 140 million tourists, achieving a total tourism revenue of 125.85 billion yuan, according to data released at the event.

The two places will build the Three Gorges Cultural Relics Protection and Utilization Demonstration Area, the Yangtze River Ancient Human Culture Exhibition Park, and the Three Gorges Culture Exhibition Belt.

Both places will create a model for cross-regional cooperation and joint construction of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park in terms of museums, memorial halls, relics, and characteristic parks.

They will cultivate Three Gorges cruise tours, canyon geological wonder tours, and other routes, connecting beautiful villages and boutique scenic spots along the Three Gorges.
