MOPH Delegation of Thailand to Strengthen Cooperation with Chinese Hospital

Chongqing- The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) of Thailand recently visited Haifu Hospital in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, exchanging the application experience on ultrasound ablation therapeutic technology.

As the world’s first internationalized hospital characterized by the treatment of hysteromyoma and adenomyosis, Haifu Hospital, using its minimal and non-invasive philosophy and focused ultrasound ablation (FUA) treatment, has helped tens of thousands of women keep their uterus.

“Except for the applications on the uterus, the treatment has already been applied on liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, placenta implantation, etc.,” said Xing Ruoxi, professor of Chongqing Medical University and the international academic chief of Haifu Hospital.

Haifu Hospital gathers world-leading clinical experts, which has attracted patients from over 20 countries and regions for treatment. Doctors and nurses from Germany, Spain, South Korea, and Singapore have come for FUA training.

The MOPH delegation of Thailand entered the operating room of FUA and viewed a treatment for an invasive fibroma in the right neck carried by Chen Wenzhi, the chief medical expert of Haifu Hospital.

The high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), as a non-invasive treatment, can realize the therapy without operating, blooding, and wounding, which can well-protect surrounding tissues.

“We paid a special trip to China to learn this advanced technology, and we hope to bring non-invasive treatment to Thai patients,” said Dr. Suwannachai Wattanayingcharoenchai, the director-general of the Department of Health, MOPH of Thailand.

He added China’s HIFU technology is very advanced, and he hopes to strengthen the cooperation with Haifu Hospital in clinical and research.

“The visit of MOPH of Thailand will help us further to expand overseas markets,” said a related person of Haifu Hospital. Since HIFU machines were exported to Oxford University in 2002, the machines have been exported to 28 countries and regions, having cured over 150,000 benign and malignant tumors.

Life health is the key pillar industry of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, which has gathered nearly 300 related enterprises, including Haifu Technology.

The life health industry in Liangjiang reaches an annual output of 11.4 billion yuan (about 1.67 billion U.S. dollars). The industry scale is expected to exceed 50 billion yuan by 2025.
