China-Europe Youth Exchange Ideas on Climate Change Solutions

Chongqing -On February 24th, the "Urban Youth Join Hands Across Lands and Seas" dialogue was held, centering on the theme "Youth Responsibilities to Challenges of Climate Change." This virtual event united young representatives from China, the UK, Germany, and Italy in a live roundtable discussion. It aimed to delve into the challenges posed by climate change, examine the varied responses of each country, and gather insights and suggestions from a youth perspective.

The event saw the participation of more than 40 young individuals and experts from China and Europe, who engaged in an extensive, nearly three-hour dialogue. This session facilitated an exchange of ideas and knowledge on the current state of the environment, the actions undertaken, notable achievements, and future prospects.

Marcel, a German language instructor at Three Kings International Academy in Dusseldorf, emphasized the significance of the issue, stating, "Addressing climate change and protecting the environment is a crucial mission for our generation."

Bai Zixuan, a student from the School of Civil Engineering at Chongqing University, said, "We will exchange our perspectives, contribute the wisdom of youth, and look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts and insights."

Qin Qin, Associate Professor at Sichuan International Studies University, highlighted the significant role that the youth play in addressing climate change issues. She hoped the "Urban Youth Join Hands Across Lands and Seas" dialogue event would allow young people from different countries to exchange ideas, foster friendships, and strengthen cooperation.

Marta Cernovskaja, a sustainable fashion designer from the UK, acknowledged the fashion industry's criticism regarding environmental issues. She said that young people are increasingly aware of their impact on climate change. They can be a real positive force for fashion industries. 

Frederic, a master's degree student from the University of the International Studies of Rome, underscored the vital role of the younger generation in addressing climate change, emphasizing its impact on the future. She believed that the "Urban Youth Join Hands Across Lands and Seas" dialogue event would be an excellent opportunity for young people from China and other countries to exchange experiences and devise strategies to combat climate change.
