Two days later, the cargo arrived at Qinzhou Port, Guangxi, and was shipped to Europe. “Compared with traditional water transport, we can save 10 to 20 days for transport via the rail-sea intermodal of ILSTC,” said Zhang Xingyan, the general manager of the Overseas Business Department of Seres Group.
The NEVs of Seres are currently enjoying good popularity in foreign markets, said Zhang. They plan to rely on ILSTC to advance the company’s international competitiveness.
As of 2022, Seres Group exported over 10,000 containers of vehicles and parts via ILSTC, totaling about 2 billion yuan (nearly 290 million U.S. dollars). The export covers countries including Indonesia, Peru, Ecuador, etc.
ILSTC now covers 393 ports from 119 countries
At present, the Chinese NEV industry is developing rapidly. As one of China's key auto manufacturing bases, Chongqing targets to build the world NEV and ICV auto industry cluster.
The Chongqing automakers, represented by Seres, strive to enlarge the overseas NEV market layout. ILSTC offers a new logistics choice for enterprises that could only export products via east China.
As the key starting point of ILSTC in Chongqing, Guoyuan Port, for the first two months, has shipped cargo valuing nearly 700 million yuan (almost 101 million U.S. dollars), with a two-times increase year-on-year. It facilitates Chongqing-made products to go overseas.
“The ILSTC now covers 393 ports from 119 countries, becoming the core support for Chongqing building the inland opening center,” said Liu Wei, the director of the Coordination Center for Logistics and Operation of ILSTC.
Liu said ILSTC would actively utilize trains, customs, and financial resources to serve the NEV export and accelerate the integration development of ILSTC and industries.
Liu Xiangbin, the chief of Chongqing Port of Chongqing Customs District, said that Chongqing Port Customs had set an ILSTC window convenient for enterprises processing customs clearance.
Next, Chongqing Port Customs will keep improving its port business environment to advance export and support the steady development of Chongqing’s foreign trade business.
