‘Mobile Energy Distribution’ Technology Provides Solution to Energy Consumption

The first Western International Carbon Neutralization Technology Expo & Entrepreneur Summit Forum was recently held at Chongqing Yuelai International Convention Center.

This year, five thematic exhibition areas were set up during the Forum, including Urban Green Development, Energy Saving and Low-carbon Products, and Energy Transformation, with many new green and low-carbon technologies and products displayed.

Many new energy-saving technologies and recycling waste materials were at the Summit Forum. For example, Zero Carbon Future (Chongqing) demonstrated the "mobile energy distribution" technology.

This sort of technology can collect the heat of exhaust gas, steam, and hot water emitted from energy-consuming enterprises such as steel mills, power plants, and distilleries and keep them in the heat reservoir of mobile energy distribution vehicles. Then, they will provide heating or domestic hot water to users in hotels, hospitals, schools, and restaurants through mobile distribution.

It not only saves the cost of waste heat treatment and solves the issue of energy consumption in heat production but also reduces the energy consumption units' production cost and CO2 emission.

"One hundred vehicles of this kind can provide the necessary heat for a city with a population of 680,000 and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 600,000 tons per year," said the relevant person from Zero Carbon Future (Chongqing).

Carbon Capture Efficiency Exceeds 95%

Carbon capture-related technology is vital to the "Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality" initiative. At the Forum, new carbon capture technologies invented by some companies appear on the scene to help reduce carbon emissions.

"We have independently developed our own carbon capture technology for coal-fired power plants, which adopts the chemical absorption method to separate and capture carbon dioxide from the coal-fired power plant's exhaust gas," said the person in charge of SPIC Yuanda Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. "Then, high-purity liquid carbon dioxide products are made."

This technology has been successfully applied in Hechuan Shuanghuai Power Plant, building the first 10,000-ton coal-fired power plant carbon capture device in China, with a carbon capture volume of 10,000 tons/year, capture purity higher than 99.5% and efficiency higher than 95%.

Cadmium telluride glass for green power generation

Some new technologies and products are not only "green" but also can facilitate urban construction.

"This is cadmium telluride glass for power generation," said an officer from CNBM (Chengdu) Photovoltaic Materials Co., Ltd. "Between two pieces of ordinary glass, we deposited a set of advanced photoelectric functional materials."

He said, thus, the glass is transformed from an insulator into a conductor and has a power generation function.

"As a new green building material, cadmium telluride glass possesses multiple advantages like low-carbon, environmental protection, energy saving, energy generation, and artistic appearance, and can be customized regarding light transmittance, color, pattern, etc.," the officer added.

Chongqing Three Gorges Eco-Environmental Technology Innovation Center Co., Ltd. also brought its internal pipeline inspection robot, demonstrating its internal pipeline inspection technology on site.

The robot can carry out an inspection under complex conditions due to deep pipeline location, high water flow, and long pipeline, and can upload the results to the intelligent water platform in real-time to achieve real-time inspection and analysis.

This not only improves the efficiency of inspection operations but also realizes remote visualization and supervision.
