Int’l Consumption Festival to Open in China’s Chongqing

Chongqing - To further improve quality consumption supply and stimulate consumption vitality, the 2023 China (Chongqing) International Consumption Festival will be held from April 28 to May 31, said the press conference on April 24.

With a nearly 600-square-meter LED giant screen, the opening ceremony will be held at 8:00 p.m. on April 28 in Sasseur (Chongqing Liangjiang) Outlets, providing a trendy catwalk for over 20 domestic and international fashion brands, as well as original designer brands.

Presented by the famous designer Liang Mingyu, the opening show combines Chongqing's landmarks, urban elements, and sustainable fashion concepts. To be shown during the London Fashion Week 2023, the original Chinese designer brand Buerlangma will bring its new concept fashion lines to the ceremony.

Many brands like FILA, LC, IDPAN, and JNBY will debut their latest products at the launch. Automotive brands will also release new products, including Tesla's Model X Plaid.

From April 28 to May 3, an international quality life experience exhibition will be created in the Cuntan International New City. It is divided into three parts: a national-themed flash mob, domestic and foreign brand display, and fashion market.

The United Kindom, Canada, Australia, Switzerland, Uruguay, Portuguese-speaking countries, and other country-themed flash mobs will bring together featured products of over ten countries and regions, including wine, coffee, bedding, etc.

Following the consumption festival, each district highlights its diverse activities. For example, the Yuzhong District will hold Kaweh 2023 Chongqing International Coffee Festival from April 26, attracting top online coffee brands and over 100 industry enterprises nationwide.

International cooperation institutions of 11 Latin American, Asian and African countries will attend the event, including Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia, and Vietnam. The ambassador of El Salvador and the commercial counselor of the Embassy of Panama in China will also attend the festival.

In addition, each district, joining hands with banks, platforms, complexes, and brand merchants, will launch a 100-million-yuan consumption coupon during the festival.

Consumers who log in to Alipay, Bank of China, and other shopping platforms, can land offers for this year's festival, like consumption vouchers and value group coupons.
