Chongqing - Developing the food and agricultural product processing industry and optimizing the overall industry ecosystem, the Chongqing Food and Agricultural Product Processing High-Quality Development Industry Ecological Conference is being held from June 14 to 15, according to a press conference on June 13.
Liu Guizhong, deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and director of Chongqing Municipal Rural Revitalization Bureau, said that the High-Quality Development of Food and Agricultural Processing Industry Institute of Chongqing-Jiangnan University will be unveiled during the conference. This institute aims to drive the high-quality development of the food and agricultural processing industry.
Jiangnan University is ranked No. 1 in Food Science and Technology and Fermentation Science by China's Ministry of Education in China Discipline Ranking.
The High-Quality Development of Food and Agricultural Processing Industry Institute of Chongqing-Jiangnan University will focus on integrating industry, academia, and research, transforming technical challenges enterprises face into research problems to be solved.
This collaborative innovation among industry, academia, and research aims to promote the development of the food and processing industry. It will involve innovative product design, studying consumer behavior and market trends, and enhancing product research and development to redefine product offerings.
Further integrating information technology with manufacturing industry
"Chongqing will leverage the deep integration of next-generation information technology and manufacturing as the main theme, with digital transformation as the driving force," said Chen Xiang, Director General Level Officer (Grade II) of the Chongqing Municipal Economic and Information Commission.
Chen said, by strengthening technological empowerment and expanding the enthusiasm and participation of enterprises, the comprehensive digitization transformation of the food and agricultural processing industry will be propelled.

Liu continued that three new innovative policies were introduced to support the high-quality development of the food and agricultural processing industry.
Firstly, greater support and incentives will be provided to attract leading enterprises, including Fortune 500 and China's top 500 companies, with rewards of up to 10 million yuan upon settling in Chongqing.
Secondly, a 10-billion yuan fund for the high-quality development of the food and agricultural processing industry will be established. Through collaboration with districts and counties, targeted industry, regional, and special sub-funds will be set up to guide the implementation of industrial projects actively.
Lastly, efforts will be intensified regarding assessment, incentives, and recognition. A reward of up to 1 million yuan will be given to the top ten industrial parks for high-quality development in the food and agricultural processing industry and the top ten enterprises in seven major industry sectors.
Chongqing plans to upgrade and create a 500-billion-yuan-level main industry cluster for food and agricultural processing by 2027.
