Chongqing’s Yuelai Expo City Expedites Pioneering Development

Chongqing - On June 26, 2023, Yuelai Investment Promotion Conference, held in Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area, marked the beginning of comprehensive efforts to promote the development of the Yuelai International Convention and Exhibition City in the fields of exhibition, design, and cultural tourism.

During the conference, Chongqing Yuelai Investment Group announced a collaboration with Xiamen University, unveiling the Xiamen University Science and Technology Park (Chongqing) Innovation Center. Additionally, a group of specialized investment promotion consultants was invited, covering the entire exhibition, cultural and tourism, and design industry chains.

Yuelai International Convention and Exhibition City, situated in Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area, is a pivotal platform for development and openness. With its strategic location and excellent transportation infrastructure encompassing water, land, and air connectivity, it is one of the city's key regions. Moreover, it is among the first pilot areas for national green ecological demonstration cities and sponge cities. The city's international convention and exhibition facilities have created a strong atmosphere of openness and established itself as the most significant international exhibition platform in Western China. 

The Chongqing International Expo Center and Chongqing Yuelai International Conference Center, situated within the Yuelai International Convention and Exhibition City, are the primary drivers of Chongqing's exhibition industry. These multifunctional complexes integrate exhibition spaces, conference venues, dining establishments, accommodation options, performance arenas, and sports facilities. To date, Yuelai International Convention and Exhibition City has successfully hosted 2,700 domestic and international exhibitions, covering an exhibition area exceeding 14 million square meters. This has attracted 23 million visitors worldwide, contributing to urban consumption surpassing hundreds of billions of yuan.

The Chongqing International Expo Center has gained recognition as one of the top 12 UFI Digital Innovation Award recipients worldwide. Additionally, it has achieved a global ranking among the top three for the UFI Operations and Services Award. Being the only venue in Asia to receive UFI awards for two consecutive years, it stands at the forefront of intelligent service globally.

In line with its vision to become the core hub for the Design City, Yuelai International Convention and Exhibition City is expediting the construction of the Chongqing Design Park. This initiative has attracted renowned companies, and the park is projected to be completed and operational by 2025, with an anticipated revenue of 10 billion yuan (about 1.3 billion U.S. dollars).  

Furthermore, Yuelai International Exhibition City is driving innovation in the cultural and tourism industry by operating the Yuelai Art Museum IP. The focus is on core business areas such as cultural and tourism operations, art exhibitions, bonded art, digital art operations, cultural and tourism investments, cultural and tourism project development, commercial operation management services, cultural and artistic exchanges, and public cultural activities. The aim is to establish a high-quality exhibition city with an international and humanistic cultural emphasis. Yuelai Center, a key municipal project within the complex, is an ecological hub integrating exhibition-related industries, star-rated hotels, Class 5A office buildings, and premium commercial facilities. It has earned the reputation of being an "office building in the art museum."
