Chongqing - The 2023 China-Chongqing Green Development Practice Forum is set to convene in Chongqing Wulong District on September 3, according to the press conference held on August 10.
With the theme of promoting green industries and fostering the future of green consumption this year, the "Green Wulong Initiative" is to be unveiled, emphasizing sustainable progress.
Apart from the central forum, the 2023 Chongqing Tourism Equipment and Consumer Goods Expo is slated for August 16-20 at Wulong Fairy Mountain National Forest Park, granting free access to the public on three evenings starting August 17. Exhibitions will range from innovative tourism equipment to new energy vehicle displays, fostering a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation.

One billion yuan tourism equipment industry cluster by 2025
The China-Chongqing Green Development Practice Forum has had a tangible impact on Wulong's transformation, with a commendable 326 projects initiated and 16.1 billion yuan invested.
Wulong's ecological industry now contributes to 73% of its GDP, and its tourism sector boasts an impressive 935 yuan per capita consumption. Its recent designation as the sole district in Chongqing to establish a municipal-level tourism equipment industry base further cements its stature in the green tourism sector.
Fostering a one billion yuan tourism equipment industry cluster by 2025 under the "tourism + industry" industrial chain. By 2030, this figure will burgeon to five billion yuan, solidifying Chongqing's reputation as a hub for sustainable tourism innovations.
Officials from the Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission highlighted that Wulong's strategic positioning caters to over 40 million tourists annually. Hosting events such as the China Wulong International Mountain Outdoor Sports Open and the Wulong Fairy Mountain Camping Music Festival ensure abundant opportunities for tourism product promotion.

Projects translating to an investment of 20.4 billion yuan
Established in 2019, the China-Chongqing Green Development Practice Forum is a pivotal platform for green industry leaders, boasting a remarkable 90% result conversion rate, said the press conference.
The initiation of the forum has overseen the initiation of 21 ecological green projects, translating to an impressive 20.4 billion yuan (about 2.83 billion U.S. dollars) investment in Wulong.
Zuo Jun, District Mayor of Wulong District People's Government, said the forum's growing influence is a beacon for green development practices and a representation of Chongqing's commitment to sustainability.
Every summer, visionaries worldwide converge at the forum, celebrating and advocating for sustainable practices. Since the event's founding, 17 academicians, 120 experts, scholars, and industry trailblazers have gathered, generating 30 research reports and creating the influential Chongqing Wulong Green Think Tank Research Institute.
