Chongqing’s Majestic T-Structure Bridge Arches over Several National Highways

Chongqing- The Yuqian Railway Co., Ltd., recently announced the seamless integration of the nation's most massive T-structure continuous girder, that is, the Shiliang River double-line special bridge in Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, setting the stage for the upcoming grand opening of the entire high-speed railway line.

Situated in the scenic Wulong District, this two-lane bridge is more than just a path but symbolizes technical expertise. Nestled within the stretch of the ambitious Chongqing-Hunan High-Speed Railway project, the bridge's design came straight from the China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co., Ltd. and was brought to life by China Railway Seventh Group Co. Limited.

Yang Yizheng from China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co., Ltd., said, "Think of this: a staggering 936-meter-long bridge acts as the majestic link between the Chenjiayuanzi Tunnel and the Guihuayuan Tunnel."

The bridge arches over major routes like the G65 Baotou–Maoming Expressway, China National Highway 353, S411 Provincial Highway, and the serene Shiliang River. Standing tall at almost 130 meters, this behemoth is as grand as a 44-story skyscraper, stretching a remarkable 120 meters on each side.

According to the contractor of China Railway Seventh Bureau Group Co., Ltd., in the process of pier foundation construction, the supporting construction method of "impact drilling + rotary drilling" is mainly adopted, which overcomes the problem of complex geological pile foundation hole-making.

The pier body construction adopts China's advanced hydraulic climbing technology and large-volume concrete intelligent temperature control system.

The Chongqing-Qianjiang section of the Chongqing-Hunan high-speed railway is an essential part of the Xiamen-Chongqing channel of China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network. China's high-speed rail network centers around the eight main vertical lines linking the north and south and eight horizontal lines connecting the east and west.

Starting from Chongqing Railway Station, the Chongqing-Hunan High-Speed Railway weaves through enchanting districts and counties like Yuzhong, Nanan, Banan, Nanchuan, Wulong, and Pengshui, ending in the vibrant Qianjiang District.

Tailored for up to 350 km/h speeds, it promises to turbocharge travel between the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration, the Triangle of Central China, and the bustling urban hubs on the West Side of the Straits.
