Chongqing - The 21st China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition (CMIAMotor 2023) wrapped up on September 18, showcasing a noticeable shift towards high-end, electrified, and smart technologies, giving a new direction for the motorcycle industry in Chongqing.
High-end products are gaining market traction
The RC680R motorcycle, a domestic four-cylinder model, was a crowd-puller at the Zonsen Cyclone booth.
Previously, four-cylinder motorcycles were predominantly imported. Numerous domestic brands, including those from Chongqing, are venturing into this sector. Notably, Loncin VOGE unveiled its RR660 four-cylinder racer, capable of breaking 100km/h in first gear and accelerating from 0-100km/h in just 3.5 seconds.

This year's expo redefined electric motorcycles, significantly increasing product diversity and quantity. For instance, the new VFLY FD9 boasts a top speed of 160km/h and can accelerate to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds, with 80% battery recharge in just 10 minutes.
Zonsen CinEco has launched the electric bicycle EX1. This bike offers the convenience of an electric bicycle combined with a comfortable riding experience, with advantages such as lightweight, long battery life, and smart features.

Global electric motorcycle market to reach over 9 billion USD
Zhang Biao from Yadea Group predicts the global electric motorcycle market will reach 69.3 billion yuan (approx. 94.97 billion USD) by 2026, growing at an annual rate of 6.5%. China's market share is expected to rise from 20% to 30%.
"The electrification of the motorcycle industry is also a result of China's development in the new energy industry chain," said Zhang, "the motorcycle industry should persist in using innovative technology to address issues related to the performance, battery life, and safety of electric motorcycles."
Breakthroughs in motorcycle intelligence wowed visitors at the expo. Loncin presented its self-balancing technology, relying on high-precision sensors and advanced control algorithms, enhancing safety, particularly in challenging terrains.
Zonsen introduced a smart system called "FEELFUN," encompassing control, power, and connectivity. This innovative platform offers an intelligent driving experience backed by blind-spot monitoring and lane assistance systems, ensuring rider safety.
Li Bin emphasized that the transition to smarter transportation systems is inevitable with the progression of big data and AI. As an integral part of urban transit, motorcycles will undoubtedly be part of this intelligent evolution.
