Hangzhou - "Green" in Hangzhou is not merely a reference to its picturesque landscapes adorned with verdant hills and crystal-clear waters. It also epitomizes the dedication to creating a low-carbon, energy-efficient Asian Games.

The torch lighting at the opening ceremony of the Hangzhou Asian Games was more than just a spectacle—it marked an innovative stride in the history of the Asian Games. For the first time, carbon-neutral green methanol was employed as both the ignition and fuel source.

This groundbreaking use of methanol came from the Geely Holding Group, a stalwart in the Chinese methanol sector with an impressive 18-year tenure. Using methanol for the flame ensures safety and clarity and is a nod to environmental consciousness. A standout feature of methanol is its clean-burning nature, ensuring zero emissions in a closed-loop system.

But Geely's commitment didn't stop at the torch. They also provided 2,000 green vehicles, all powered by methanol, for the Games. These state-of-the-art vehicles played pivotal roles in various segments, from the torch relay and marathon to the opening and closing ceremonies and facilitating transportation between venues.

The integration of satellite-based high-precision positioning technology is worth highlighting in all official vehicles, a feature provided by the "Geely Future Mobility Constellation."

The Hangzhou Asian Games, in its entirety, manifests the "Green, Low-carbon, and Sustainability" ethos. This commitment, visible in every aspect of the Games, is a testament to China's unwavering drive towards innovation and sustainability.
