The medical team departed from Chongqing for PNG on October 8, embarking on a one-year international medical mission to provide aid at Port Moresby General Hospital as part of a national foreign assistance.
Up to September 2023, Chongqing dispatched 12 medical team contingents to PNG, amounting to 120 individuals. Over the past two decades, China's medical teams have played a pivotal, expert, and technologically leading role in enhancing the clinical practices of assisted hospitals in PNG. Through observational demonstrations, specialized lectures, technical training, and academic exchanges, they have actively trained a substantial number of local medical staff, thereby alleviating the disparity between supply and demand for medical services in the supported hospitals.
