Sports brands achieve success in Rongchang

Rongchang District has been selected among the first batch of pilot cities nationwide in sports consumption and represents the only such project underway in Chongqing Municipality. In recent years, Rongchang has built up strong credentials in public sports as they follow a coordinated development pattern centered around infrastructure and events, which collectively promote mass participation, competition, industry, and culture.

As part of this endeavor, Rongchang strives to develop the economy in sports events, construct well-known host venues, and build the upcoming Chongqing (Rongchang) Sports Industrial Park. The latter will focus on cultivating smart technology, equipment, shoes and clothing, food, and high-tech materials.

Industry data shows that Rongchang has successfully formed a manufacturing cluster for sports equipment headed by the Chinese brands Zhongqiao and Zhongwei, which have produced an annual output value in excess of 1.5 billion yuan (USD 205 million).
