The speech delivered by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the APEC leaders’ meeting clearly means that the overall development of the Asia-Pacific region is sure to accelerate the process of multi-polarization in the world and the democratization of international relations.

The message is clear that China will continue to carry forward the spirit of unity and self-reliance and work with other countries to safeguard and promote economic growth, lasting prosperity and stability in the Asia-Pacific region with the sustainable security.

It is far sure that the current world economy is still undergoing a new round of profound adjustments, and there is a long way to go before we see economic recovery. Regional countries should give top priority to development and strive to seek out new areas and growth drivers through economic innovation, reform and growth so as to improve both quality and efficiency of development.

China always believed that all stake holders should make solid progress in facilitating regional economic integration and fully tap into the potential of cooperation to achieve complementary advantages.

The need has emerged that the member countries should establish and improve the Asia-Pacific supply chains, industrial chains and value chains with shared interests, and build a macro Asia-Pacific market which benefits all countries and is more open and integrated.

Asia-Pacific countries should continue to enhance economic and trade cooperation to a higher level and strengthen the innate impetus for the growth and the anti-risk capability of the regional economy, with the aim of ensuring that the fruit of development better benefits the countries and people of the region as well as making greater contribution to the recovery of world economy.

In this case, China being the 2nd largest and sustainable economy has been serving as both a strong driver and anchor for economic growth in Asia-Pacific.

The performance of Chinese economy shows that China will continue to deepen reforms and lead the economic “new normal” by shouldering the share of responsibility for other countries in need for it.

In recent years, China’s contribution to Asian economic growth has exceeded 50%. Every percentage point increase in China‘s economy will boost the Asian economy by 0.3 percentage point. It has also been the largest trading partner, the largest export market and important source of investment for many neighboring countries for many years in a row.

It shows that China has found a development pattern which combines an effective market with a capable government, providing a model for Asian countries to use in exploring a development path that is suited to their own national conditions.

China has always assumed its due responsibilities concerning Asian development, while it is willing to make greater contribution to the stability and prosperity of Asia.

China and the other Asian countries are part of a community with a shared future which will prosper and cherish together.

China has initiated a new round of high-level opening-up so as to drive as well as benefit neighboring countries through its own development.

China will continue to give top priority to justice, provide more assistance to other developing countries in this region to the best of its ability and support the development of regional countries.

China hopes that each and every country will be a part of Asia’s development course where hope and challenge coexist.

China believes that all countries will jointly carry forward the essence of Asian traditional culture, mutual respect politically and consultation with each other, mutual assistance economically and common development, mutual learning culturally and shared prosperity, mutual trust in security and cooperation.

Looking to the future, peace, security, and prosperity will be the shared expectations and goals of the people of the Asia-Pacific countries.

Only riding on the cusp of the times, seizing opportunities and building a closer linked community with a shared future, shared interests, and shared responsibilities can achieve a healthy circle of security and development in the new era.

China, together with other pacific countries will bolster confidence and work together to build an Asia-Pacific region of peace, friendship and harmony, resulting in remarkable new accomplishments in the pursuit of Asia-Pacific development.
