Chongqing - The Chongqing Investment and Trade Cooperation Dialogue occurred during the second Global Digital Trade Expo (GDTS) on November 23 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. This gathering brought together participants to discuss the latest advancements in digital technology and explore new investment opportunities in Chongqing.
The event witnessed the participation of over 90 representatives from top Fortune 500 companies, including industry giants like Walmart and Amazon. More than 120 representatives from leading digital trade and e-commerce platforms, key business associations, research institutions, and prominent figures from Chongqing's political and business circles graced the occasion.

One of the highlights of the dialogue was a signing ceremony where 23 organizations entered into 15 cooperation agreements. These agreements, valued at 13.6 billion yuan (USD 1.92 billion), encompassed various sectors, including the digital economy, modern services, film, television culture, and more.
Alibaba's digital countryside initiative in Changshou District is a standout project emerging from the event. This initiative marks Alibaba's inaugural national digital countryside eco-lab, aiming to harmonize rural revitalization with Chongqing's digital development to create a digital valley in Western China.
Achieved top-tier status in digitalization
In 2022, Chongqing achieved top-tier status in digitalization, ranking 9th in the country. The city's digital economy industries witnessed significant growth, contributing 224.1 billion yuan, which accounts for 45% of its GDP.
Businesses from various regions, including Zhejiang, have commended Chongqing for its robust digital economy environment. Jin Xiaolong, Vice President of Ant Group, reflected on their over a decade-long presence in Chongqing, praising the city's innovative development atmosphere. Jin stated that the conducive environment for digital business has deepened Ant Group's strategic partnership with Chongqing.
With over a decade of presence in the city, Deloitte China has experienced substantial expansion and acknowledges Chongqing's dedication to creating a world-class business environment. The firm intends to bolster its cooperation with Chongqing, particularly in the digital economy sector, supporting the city's ambition to become a globally influential hub for digital innovation and development.
Zhang Yongwu, Director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, emphasized Chongqing's efforts to draw lessons from Zhejiang's experience in developing the digital economy. He expressed a strong desire to leverage these insights for further cooperation and growth in the digital domain.
