Chongqing’s 2023 Top 100 Social Responsibility List Includes Longfor, Seres, Mashang

Chongqing - Longfor Group, Seres Group, Mashang Consumption, and 97 other private enterprises were selected for Chongqing's 2023 Top 100 List of Private Enterprises for Social Responsibility, according to a press conference on Firday.

This selection focuses on national, employee, ecological, fair operation, consumer, community responsibilities, and social responsibility governance. This year, it particularly emphasizes evaluating companies' professionalism, standardization, and management skills in social responsibility.

Lei Wenrui, spokesperson for the Chongqing Federation of Industry and Commerce, briefed the media on the performance of private enterprises in fulfilling social responsibility in 2022.

The first ten companies in the Top 100 List of Private Enterprises for Social Responsibility were Long for Group, Seres Group, Mashang Consumption, Qijin Group, Zhifei Biological, Taoranju Group, Zisun Technology, Qiutian Gears, Huayu Group and Bosai Group.

In 2022, Chongqing's private economy achieved an added value of 1,740.44 billion yuan, accounting for 59.7% of the GDP. The city's private economy generated taxes of 130.95 billion yuan, constituting 53.2% of the city's total tax revenue.

The city's urban areas saw an increase of 706,700 newly employed individuals, with private enterprises absorbing 600,000 of these, accounting for over 80% of the newly employed population in urban areas.

In terms of innovation, in 2022, the city's private enterprises invested approximately 32.5 billion yuan in research and development, representing 47% of the total social research and development investment. As of the end of 2022, the city had 42,821 private technology-oriented enterprises, a growth of 16.32% compared to 2021.

Regarding exports, in 2022, the total import and export volume of Chongqing's private enterprises reached 374.11 billion yuan, accounting for 45.9% of the city's total foreign trade import and export value. Among these, 19 private enterprises invested 66.68 million US dollars in the countries and regions co-founding the Belt and Road Initiative, accounting for 86% of the total number of enterprises and 78% of the investment amount in the city's total.
