Deputies Voice at Chongqing Two Sessions: Suggestions for Sports, Transportation, Minor Protection, and Industrial Development

Chongqing - Southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality buzzed with diverse voices on January 20 at the 2024 Chongqing Two Sessions. Bridging News tapped into the pulse of the event, engaging with deputies of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Congress from various sectors.

Wang Zhi, a deputy to the Chongqing Municipal People’s Congress and Deputy General Manager of Chongqing Expressway Group Co., Ltd., has observed chronic traffic congestion around primary and secondary schools. Handling a two-pronged solution, Wang suggests adding parking areas near schools and introducing dedicated school transportation buses.

“This approach not only eases road resources but also provides convenience to working parents, helping them manage their schedules more effectively,” Wang said.

Zhou Yimei, a deputy to the Chongqing Municipal People’s Congress and General Legal Counsel of CISDI Group Co., Ltd., highlights the importance of legal education related to minor protection. She suggests enhancing the outreach of the Family Education Promotion Law of the People’s Republic of China, especially targeting parents.

“Despite the law being in effect for two years and its widespread promotion, parents still need greater awareness. Integrating this with the Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Protection of Minors can significantly benefit minors’ upbringing and healthy development,” Zhou said.
