Chongqing Dadukou District Urban Opportunity List Revealed with 29.7 Billion Yuan Investment

Chongqing - Dadukou District in  Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality revealed its 2024 urban opportunity list on Feb 27, featuring 21 projects in healthcare, transportation, housing, entertainment, and tourism, with a total investment of about 29.7 billion yuan (USD 4.13 billion).

Huang Hong, Deputy Secretary of the Dadukou District Committee and Head of the District Government said the list's goal is to seek "city partners" for Dadukou's development, fostering its transformation and promoting high-quality economic and social growth through new social capital.

Statistics indicate that Dadukou District has experienced the fastest population growth in the central city of Chongqing over the past three years. In 2023, Dadukou District saw a 34.16% surge in new enterprises, driving an 8.7% rise in service industry value-added, topping rankings in both the main urban area and the city.

Dadukou District launched a healthcare project to build a modern, high-standard tertiary hospital, inviting social capital for collaboration. With a total investment of about two billion yuan, it spans approximately 102 acres, aiming to create a regional integrated medical service center and enhance the district's medical system.

In transportation, the district launched the "P+B" (Parking+Business) three-dimensional parking commercial complex project at Liujiaba Bus Station, with a total investment of 150 million yuan. The aim is to engage social capital in building an exemplary parking system that is efficient, intelligent, and eco-friendly. 

The Wuyi Mutual Aid Area Urban Village Renovation and Comprehensive Development Project, the first of its kind in Chongqing, approved by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of China, is in Dadukou District. Situated just three kilometers from the administrative center, it aims to create a new ecological city for living and working through the infusion of social capital.

Dadukou District boasts 77 parks offering 25 square meters of green space per capita. With a focus on nine featured park projects totaling 4.9 billion yuan, the district aims to create immersive urban parks guided by the park-oriented development mode (POD mode), fostering a "park +" economy.

Dadukou District launched projects like the Baijusi Yangtze River Bridge and Dabin Road to attract social capital for culture and tourism operations. Plans include constructing 34 kilometers of riverfront shoreline and activating cultural and tourism resources and bridge spaces. 

Long Xiaomei, Deputy Director of the Dadukou District Government, announced the Diaoyuizui Peninsula as part of the tourism belt, where the Tchaikovsky Conservatory will be established. Featuring music streets, parks, and camps, it aims to be an art tourism hub and cultural exchange window for Chongqing internationally.
