Digital Chongqing Calls for Participation to Elevate City, Industry, and Business Growth

Chongqing - City officials announced major strides in developing a digital resource-sharing platform, laying the groundwork for Digital Chongqing, according to a press conference on April 8.

Digital Chongqing's "1361" framework includes one Integrated Intelligent Public Data Platform, Three-tier Digital Urban Operations and Governance Center, Six Major Application Systems covering different aspects of digitalization in party building, governance, economy, society, culture, and rule of law, and one Grassroots Intelligent Governance System.

Huang Chaoyong, Deputy Secretary General of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, announced the city's achievement in establishing an integrated digital resource-sharing platform, including 646 visual network points, 6.68 million real-time data sensing devices, and a smart computing capacity of 2500P, setting a new benchmark for digital infrastructure in Western China.

The platform allows one-stop browsing, package application, and integrated configuration of digital resources. It includes five essential databases covering personal identification, business entity, credit, electronic licensing, natural resources, and spatial geography, marking a milestone in data resource management.

Digital Chongqing's main focus is setting up a Three-tier Digital Urban Operations and Governance System. It links municipal, district/county, and town/sub-district levels across six sectors, like facilities and social governance, to create a unified city operation index system. This setup helps streamline governance and boost efficiency.

For example, the city has introduced a smart governance mechanism, using digital tools to shift from traditional to modern governance. This has improved collaboration among government departments, enabling the online tracking of over 3,000 economic indicators and better digital risk management and emergency response, addressing 15,000 early warning events through teamwork.

The city has also developed new digital economy strategies, like the "industrial brain + future factory," to boost local industries through targeted investments and support. Key successes include the smart management of bottled gas, with enhanced monitoring and risk prevention implemented at 72 gas stations and 1,364 service points citywide.

The Chongqing government presented the first set of Digital Chongqing construction opportunities at the press conference, covering 45 application scenarios in urban management, public services, and industrial growth. This initiative focuses on advancing the digital economy, spotlighting the "33618" modern manufacturing clusters and the move towards AI-driven operations.

Dai Xiaohong, Director of the Chongqing Big Data Application Development Management Bureau, highlighted future plans to expand application scenarios and introduce more supportive policies. The aim is to attract market players to participate in Digital Chongqing's construction, thereby enhancing urban governance, industrial development, and enterprise growth.
