Rome, Italy—On September 1, the first overseas promotional event of the "China: An Opportunity · Chongqing Brands Global Promotion" arrived in Rome.
Over 60 guests attended the event, including government officials, institutional organizations, and business representatives from China and Italy, where renowned Chongqing brands introduced the opportunities in Chongqing.
The event aims to foster deeper economic and cultural ties between Chongqing and Italy, opening new opportunities for Chongqing brands in the European market.
Zhang Qiong, Deputy Director-General of the Publicity Department of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, emphasized Chongqing's charm, openness, and branding strength. Sstressedzed the need for Chongqing to strengthen its global connections, particularly with Europe, and invited Italian guests to discover the city's potential.
Carla Formariello, Councilor of the Municipality of Rome, noted that 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Italy, making it a significant year for bilateral relations.
She expressed optimism about deepening educational cooperation between Chongqing and Italy, encouraging student exchanges and cultivating high-quality talent.
At the promotion event, Chai Wenjin, Deputy Manager of the Western China International Communication Organization (WCICO), outlined the campaign's aim to showcase Chongqing’s global industries, brands, and culture. He emphasized the city's commitment to high-quality development and its efforts to build a world-class industrial cluster.
The event spotlighted key themes such as "Invest in Chongqing," "Made in Chongqing,""Scenic Chongqing," and "Delicious Chongqing." Chai highlighted Chongqing's strategic location, strong industrial base, rich tourism resources, and unique cultural appeal, positioning it as a city brimming with development opportunities.
He also detailed Chongqing’s goal of creating a "33618" world-class industrial cluster, including sectors like intelligent networked new energy vehicles, next-generation electronic information manufacturing, and advanced materials, which would drive the city's economic growth and foster global cooperation.
Zhang Xiaomei, Standing Committee Member and Director of the Publicity Department of Yongchuan District, detailed Yongchuan's advantages in road traffic, vocational education, industrial foundation, innovative atmosphere, and cultural tourism resources and warmly invited Italian friends to visit Yongchuan, explore its tea mountains and ancient towns, and discuss development opportunities.
Paolo Bazzoni, Vice President of China-Italy Chamber of Commerce for Chongqing and Southwest, spoke about investing in Chongqing. He highlighted the city's rich industrial opportunities and favorable business environment, encouraging companies to collaborate and expand into overseas markets.
Xie Peizhi, Deputy General Manager of Changan European Design Center, outlined Changan's global development. He announced that Changan Group plans to unveil a new European strategy in Milan this October, offering new opportunities for cooperation between Chongqing and Europe.
The event also featured a Yongchuan Xiuya tea art performance and a Chongqing noodles tasting, allowing attendees to experience the authentic flavors of Chongqing.
At the event, WCICO and the Rome 9 Sino-Italian Economic and Cultural Exchange Center signed a strategic cooperation agreement, creating the Bridging News Rome Liaison Office. This new office will enhance Chongqing-Italy collaboration in financial reporting, industry expansion, cultural exchanges, and tourism promotion.
This successful event marks the official international launch of "China: An Opportunity · Chongqing Brands." Upcoming events are planned in San Francisco, Peru, Kenya, and Malaysia to further strengthen Chongqing's global presence and international partnerships.
