Chongqing – Two CR400AF-S Fuxing intelligent EMU (electric multiple unit) trains, numbers 2386 and 2387, recently arrived at the Chongqing West EMU of Chongqing Vehicle Depot, marking the city's first delivery of these trains.

Eight more CR400AF-S Fuxing intelligent EMUs will be introduced soon, significantly enhancing the city's capacity to meet passengers' growing and diverse travel needs.
The new Fuxing intelligent EMUs, manufactured by CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd., consist of eight-car standard trains, each with a maximum operating speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
The CR400AF-S model offers increased capacity compared to the existing CR400AF-Z Fuxing EMUs. This improvement is achieved through an optimized floor plan, relocation of distribution cabinets, expansion of the kitchen area, and more spacious passenger compartments with integrated air conditioning.
Additionally, noise-reducing inner windshields, upgraded floor materials, and shock-absorbing wall panels have been used to lower cabin noise levels, greatly enhancing the passenger experience.

To ensure the new EMUs are ready for service as soon as possible, Chongqing has organized a team of technical experts to conduct maintenance and inspections. Key focus areas include high-voltage traction systems, side doors, and signage.
A quality control team, consisting of technical staff and quality inspectors, has also been established to ensure that maintenance meets rigorous safety and quality standards.
A spokesperson from Chongqing Vehicle Depot said once the new Fuxing intelligent EMUs are ready, a team will conduct trial runs, focusing on safety, performance, passenger comfort, energy efficiency, and system integration tests.
These tests will be crucial in ensuring the new EMUs are fully optimized for passenger use and meet the highest safety and reliability standards.
The addition of these advanced Fuxing intelligent EMUs represents a significant step forward in Chongqing's rail transport capabilities. They promise to provide passengers with a more comfortable, efficient, and high-speed travel experience.
