Chongqing—Arcfox, the new energy vehicle (NEV) brand under Beijing Automotive Group Co., Ltd. (BAIC Group), officially launched its latest Alpha T6 and S6 models on April 2.
According to Liu Guanqiao, General Manager of BAIC Group NEV, intelligent driving is now a standard for China’s NEVs. The new Alpha T6 and S6, priced from 195,800 (approx. 26806.19 USD) to 225,600 yuan, come with an advanced intelligent driving system featuring three Lidar sensors.

Data released by Arcfox shows that among mid-to-high-end models with similar Lidar configurations, the most affordable competitor, the Avatr 12 Max extended-range version, is priced at 269,900 yuan, giving the Alpha T6 and S6 a price advantage.
The new models' intelligent driving functions also perform exceptionally well in urban traffic congestion. A test video presented at the launch event demonstrated how Chinese automotive influencer Yan Chuang tested the system in Beijing’s peak traffic.
The video showed a clear system display, smooth acceleration and braking, and a comfortable ride for both driver and passengers. In heavy traffic or during lane changes, the system automatically picks the best lane and smartly avoids merging buses, keeping the ride smooth without sudden slowing.
On the hardware front, Liu noted that the Alpha T6 and S6 incorporate a three-Lidar and multi-sensor fusion system, ensuring 360-degree obstacle detection with no blind spots. Even in low-light conditions or adverse weather, such as rain and snow, the system maintains an obstacle recognition accuracy exceeding 99%, enhancing driving safety.
In terms of software, both models have upgraded intelligent driving safety features and are now equipped with Huawei’s latest ADS 3.3 system. This allows them to easily handle tough weather and complex roads, like rural dirt paths and narrow alleys.

As an emerging brand in China's NEV market, Arcfox is showing strong growth potential. Liu highlighted that Arcfox was among the first automakers to collaborate with Huawei, contributing substantial early-stage test data for Huawei’s intelligent driving technology. Additionally, the brand has been deeply involved in Baidu’s Apollo Go, the robotaxi project, advancing the implementation of autonomous driving technologies.
Arcfox has secured a spot on China's L3 autonomous vehicle approval list, a milestone achieved by only nine Chinese passenger car manufacturers, including BYD and Changan Auto in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area. This further underscores Arcfox's competitive position in the intelligent driving sector.
