As the "Global Capital of Zhacai (Chongqing Preserved Pickles)", Fuling has built a digital cross-border trade ecosystem offering end-to-end solutions - from foreign exchange settlement and logistics to customs clearance and insurance. Officially launched in November 2024, the platform allows local farmers and enterprises to focus solely on production, while it manages international logistics, overseas sales, and payment processing.
In 2024, Fuling transported 11,600 TEUs of goods worth RMB 2.12 billion (USD 290.65 million) via the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. Trade with Belt and Road Initiative partner countries accounted for RMB 9.53 billion, marking a 10.7% year-on-year growth, as the region continued to unleash its open-economy momentum. The platform optimizes shipping routes and customs procedures by integrating AI-powered systems with global logistics networks like the China-Europe Railway and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, slashing clearance times from one month to just seven days and reducing logistics costs.
"Previously, exporters had to juggle multiple intermediaries—customs brokers, freight forwarders, and third-party agencies—which was costly and slow. Now, the platform offers ‘one-click global trade’," said Pang Kaizhong, General Manager of Fuling Cross-Border E-Commerce Public Service Co., Ltd. The platform has already onboarded 30 enterprises from Sichuan and Chongqing, with trade networks spanning the U.S., Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, and Europe, establishing itself as the region’s first dedicated hub for pickled zhacai and specialty agricultural exports.

Fuling’s distinctive agricultural products have been exported to over 80 countries, with more than 50 local enterprises showcasing 300+ product varieties at domestic and international exhibitions in 2024. The “Fuling Zhacai” brand, valued at RMB 37.924 billion, boasts a diverse portfolio of over 100 product lines. In 2024, the region achieved a total output of 1.908 million metric tons of green mustard tuber (the core ingredient for Zhacai), generating an industrial output value of RMB 15.545 billion and export revenue of RMB 160 million. These milestones underscore its role as a benchmark for rural industrial revitalization, demonstrating how localized specialties can fuel sustainable economic growth.
Fuling is now advancing a "Local Industry Clusters + Digitalization + Global Markets" strategy, partnering with giants like Taiji (Sinopharm), Hualan Bio. and Fuling Zhacai Group to transform regional specialties - pickled vegetables, citrus fruits, and traditional Chinese medicine - from raw material exports into high-value branded products, propelling Sichuan-Chongqing delicacies onto the world stage.
In 2024, Fuling’s cross-border e-commerce import-export volume hit RMB 69.707 million, with frontline import-export value exceeding RMB 286 million, total orders surging to RMB 487 million, overseas parcels surpassing 780,000 units, and tax contributions reaching RMB 39.725 million.
