Luo Li, Deputy Director of Chongqing Municipal Economy and Information Technology Commission, introduced the idea at the event’s first press conference that WSIE will center on the themes of “AI+” and intelligent connected NEVs, with a focus on professionalized exhibitions.
Five specialized zones will be featured: intelligent connected NEVs, digital city governance, robotics, smart living, and low-altitude economy. These zones will showcase how AI is driving transformation and innovation across industries.
The intelligent connected NEV zone will highlight advancements in autonomous driving, vehicle connectivity, and battery technologies. Supporting events such as supply chain collaboration sessions for OEMs and component manufacturers will be held to foster deep integration across the industry.
The expo will also feature tech ecosystem conferences hosted by key players such as Changan Auto, a leading NEV enterprise based in Chongqing, and Dongchedi, a prominent Chinese auto media platform known for its industry insights and focus on smart mobility trends.
The digital city governance zone will showcase Chongqing’s advancements in digital infrastructure through interactive AI displays and physical models. Highlighting smart public data platforms, the exhibit offers new solutions for modern urban governance in large cities.
The robotics zone will spotlight real-world robot applications and feature a full-chain display from R&D to deployment. With over 30 companies participating, the focus will be on specialized robots and core components. Highlights include the Asia-Pacific RoboCup Invitational and new tech launches, aimed at boosting commercialization and industry matchmaking.
The smart living zone will showcase how AI enhances daily life through immersive scenarios like health monitoring and smart cooking. It will highlight elderly-friendly technologies supporting the silver economy and feature an interactive section on smart pet care and companionship.
The low-altitude economy zone will feature both static displays and live demos of technologies like electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) flight control systems and digital twin platforms for low-altitude airspace. Around 50 companies will participate, alongside events such as an industry forum, drone racing, and tech showcases.
WSIE is co-hosted by China’s two municipalities directly under the central Chinese Government—Chongqing and Tianjin—and rotates between the two cities. After being held in Tianjin in 2024, this year’s Chongqing edition will highlight the cities' latest progress in AI and automotive development.
