Chongqing– To strengthen the regional high-end motorcycle sector, Chongqing Liangjiang New Area has announced plans for a specialized industrial park, including a dedicated 13.33-hectare (200-mu) site for the fast-growing startup ZXMOTO.
The move aims to ease production bottlenecks as the company seeks to build on its recent historic victory at the World Superbike Championship (WSBK).
An insider from Liangjiang New Area confirmed that the project is in its early stages, marking a significant step in the city’s strategy to support high-tech manufacturing. This infrastructure push follows a period of rapid growth for ZXMOTO; at a 2026 brand partner conference, founder Zhang Xue disclosed that the company’s 2025 total output value reached 750 million yuan, with R&D investment accounting for a substantial 9.33% of sales revenue.
The government support comes at a critical time. Despite being founded only two years ago, ZXMOTO is currently facing production constraints driven by a surge in orders.
"Following our factory relocation, daily output has increased from 100 to over 200 units," Zhang Xue explained. He noted that a second production line is under construction to raise capacity to around 300 units per day. As of March 30, combined orders for the new 820RR and 500RR models had reached nearly 8,000 units, briefly crashing the company’s booking app due to high traffic.
The surge in market interest was triggered between March 28 and 29, when ZXMOTO’s 820RR secured a double-round victory at the WSBK Portugal circuit. The win ended years of podium dominance by established foreign manufacturers such as Ducati, Kawasaki, and Yamaha in the middleweight category.
As WSBK focuses on production-based motorcycles with limited modifications, ZXMOTO’s triumph on the global stage serves as an objective validation of its technical capability. Zhang attributed the advantage not only to raw power, but to the bike’s ability to maintain a clean racing rhythm under strict Balance of Performance (BoP) regulations.

The brand’s "grassroots" identity has resonated strongly with the Chinese riding community. At a recent test ride event held on April 1 in Chongqing’s Dadukou District, participants highlighted both the performance of the 820RR and the everyday usability of the 500RR.
A motorcycle travel blogger recounted his experience: as a fan of Zhang, upon witnessing ZXMOTO cross the finish line to claim victory, he immediately decided to cut short his road trip in Guizhou and drove 400 kilometers to the company’s Chongqing factory, where he had a chance encounter with Zhang himself.
An employee at the test event, who is also a bike owner, remarked that as a true enthusiast, Zhang designs motorcycles that are lightweight and intuitive, meeting the practical needs of riders.
The victory has turned Zhang Xue—who rose from a repair shop worker to a factory founder—into a national media focal point, with coverage from central outlets such as CCTV and Xinhua. Beyond the trophies, the combination of Zhang’s engineering focus and Chongqing’s industrial support is positioning ZXMOTO as a key player in the evolution of China’s motorcycle industry.
