Chongqing - A delegation of Latin American think-tank experts visited Chongqing on August 19-20, touring the city's high-tech industries and gaining firsthand insight into Chinese innovations in intelligent robotics, non-invasive medical technology, smart automotive manufacturing, and waste-to-energy solutions.

The delegation visited four leading companies and research facilities: Chongqing Yuyi Technology Co., Ltd., Chongqing Haifu Medical Technology Co., Ltd., the Changan Global R&D Center, and Chongqing Sanfeng Yulin Environmental Energy Co., Ltd.
Intelligent Robots Take the Stage
Upon arrival, the delegation headed to Chongqing Yuyi Technology, a Unitree Robotics subsidiary specializing in the R&D and manufacturing of intelligent and industrial robots. At the company's exhibition hall and experience zone, guests viewed a range of Unitree robots and demonstrations of their applications in different scenarios. The robots also performed choreographed movements in sync with music, drawing sustained applause and calls of "Encore!" from the Latin American visitors.

Exploring Non-Invasive Medical Technology
On the morning of August 20, the delegation visited Chongqing Haifu Medical Technology Co., Ltd., a leading manufacturer of non-invasive ultrasound therapeutic systems for malignant and benign tumors. Experts learned about the company's independently developed focused ultrasound ablation technology and tested smart wellness devices, gaining firsthand insight into China's advances in non-invasive medical technology and their potential applications.

"This is actually my second time visiting Chongqing, but it is my first time getting to know this city so deeply. Especially this waste treatment facility. It is truly astonishing how massive amounts of household waste can be processed and recycled like this!" said Francisco, a delegate from Colombia.

Inside Chongqing's Smart Automotive Industry
In the afternoon, the delegation toured the Changan Global R&D Center in Liangjiang New Area. The center, which opened in April 2019 with an investment of 4.3 billion yuan (approximately US$590 million), covers more than 1,000 acres and serves as a major research and development hub. Delegates learned about Changan's advances in intelligent driving, new energy vehicles, lightweight technologies, and vehicle manufacturing. They also took test drives to experience the vehicles' handling, intelligent systems, and ride comfort.

Exploring Waste-to-Energy Solutions
The final stop was Chongqing Sanfeng Yulin Environmental Energy Co., Ltd., where the delegation toured the municipal solid waste treatment process, from collection and transportation to incineration, flue-gas purification, waste-heat utilization, and residue treatment. The visit offered a closer look at Chongqing's technologies in urban waste treatment, resource recycling, and low-carbon development.

The tour gave the Latin American think-tank delegation a broader view of Chongqing's technological and industrial development across robotics, advanced healthcare, smart manufacturing, and environmental technology.
