The Economist Coined “Dragon-Restaurant Diplomacy”: What Did It Miss?

Chongqing — Since its overseas release on September 11, Once Upon a Time in the Middle East has drawn praise from audiences abroad for its innovative anti-war storytelling: ordinary people holding on to ordinary life — eating well, raising children well. But The Economist, blind to this simplest human longing for peace and development, coined "Dragon-Restaurant Diplomacy" to dismiss China's diplomacy. What, then, has The Economist missed — and why did it feel the need to invent such a term?
