On the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival that embodies reunion and bears patriotism, a myriad of special events kicked off throughout Chongqing to celebrate this joyous festival on September 13.
Ganqiu - music performance to celebrate the season of autumn
To celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Yusong Road Community of Longshan Street held the “Our Festival • Mid-Autumn” theme event, pooling residents to watch movies, feast on moon cakes, and talk about their daily life.
On this day of family reunion, the community united as a big family, and every resident was a family of each other. To enhance the neighborhood relationship and indulge the residents in the warm atmosphere of the big family, Longshan Street specially held this Mid-Autumn Festival theme event. The event started with a garden tour and involved a variety of traditional and appealing games, such as making moon cakes and lanterns, guessing lantern riddles themed with incorrupt governance, and drinking osmanthus wine. The event witnessed the enthusiastic and active participation of residents.
On the afternoon of September 13, a large-scale and all-media live broadcast themed with the “Reunion of Family and Country” — a tribute to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, took place in seven cities across the country. The National Film Administration sponsored the event and organized by the China Movie Channel SARFT. Based on the film Encountering directed by Zhang Yibai, Chongqing launched the storytelling activity themed with “My People, My Country” by the outstanding representatives of Chongqing industries, the chorus of My Motherland and Me by thousands of people and other activities at Jiefangbei, Yuzhong District. Director Zhang Yibai said that he hopes to ignite the true feelings in people’s hearts and express our sincere blessings to our country through this offline activity.

On the evening of September 13, a well-known song A Crescent Moon preluded the Mid-Autumn Festival concert of The Moon of the Fairy Mountain in the Guotai Arts Center, Chongqing. The show gathered the famous tenor singer Fan Jingma, the artist team of Guofeng Yage, Chongqing Children’s Choir of China Philharmonic Orchestra, etc., and fascinated over 800 audiences with such diversified repertoires as Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon, May They Live Long, and Sentimental Land.
