Starting from the typical image that Chongqing people enjoy eating hot pot under the Ficus virens, city tree of Chongqing, the lyrics quickly take listeners into the delightful scene of life with one spicy hot pot on the fire.

The lyrics cover three parts—“Chongqing’s Descendants”, “Chongqing’s Mountains and Rivers”, and “Chongqing’s Customs”. A hundred well-known singers from Chongqing participate in the performance of My Chongqing. The strong lineup performs various singing styles, such as bel canto, popular and traditional (Chinese) opera.

Zhou Yahui, Chairman of Chongqing Popular Music Association, said that My Chongqing is a new work after more than half of a year of conception and creation, to eulogize the times and celebrate the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up. Shen Tiemei, a performing artist of Sichuan opera, along with singers including Zhang Mai, Xu Ziwei, Zhang Lihui, Tan Xuesheng and Zhou Qiang, are all involved in the singing. With the further polishing and improvement, My Chongqing will be shot into an MV, to show the world the beautiful Chongqing
